Description
The pipe fitting short tube fuse (temperature safety element) is specially designedfor installation at the connection point of the compression type manifold fitting.These fuses are most commonly found in the control circuits of pneumatic closed-loopESD (continuous pressurization) safety systems. The fuse has a solid-state core (sealedend fuse) of a eutectic material. Once the maximum operating temperature is exceeded,it melts.As the eutectic material melts, the working pressure within the safety system de-creases, thereby initiating the predetermined emergency shutdown procedure or closing
the appropriate safety valve.
The specific temperature rating of each pipe fitting short tube fuse is printed on the ex-ternal surface. The temperature range can also be identified by the specified color code.
There are four common temperature specifications for pipe fitting short tube fuses:70°C 85°C 100C 140°C.
